Thanks for another great race. Organisation, as usual, was exceptional. Hope it's going to be run again next year. Ian Baker
I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how much my husband and I enjoyed last weekend's Steamy Surprise. I can quite honestly say it was probably the most enjoyable running event either of us have ever taken part in ! The scenery was stunning, the weather was great, the hills were challenging, and the downhills made me consider becoming a fell runner (albeit very briefly...) Kelley Sprawson
Thank you for organising another great event - good course, views, boat trip and weather ! Although it must be difficult to organise please consider including it in 2008. Les Atkins
Just passing on my thanks for a superb day on Saturday. It was my first trail race and I thoroughly enjoyed it (I've already entered Garburn 2008). The distance was spot-on for a "taster" and the bits that worked really well for me were the Wilf's meal which was just about the perfect post-race food, the boat and the musical entertainment. It really did have the feel of an end of series event and everyone I have spoken to loved it. Tony Bartlett
Many thanks for asking me to perform at Saturday's Lakeland Trails™ event at Glenridding. It was an absolute privilege to be asked to perform in such a friendly and spectacular environment. You have come up with yet another gem. Well done and thanks again for asking me to take part. Pete Lashley
Thank you again for another fantastic race/challenge event. The Steamer ride was totally cool and an upbeat way to get ready to run those hills ! I'm so glad you added this race to the schedule, giving me one more chance this year to enjoy the trails of the Lakes. The views of Ullswater were fantastic and talk about rocky bits !! WHEW !! I feel I went where only goats fear to tread. You seem to outdo yourselves with each of these events. I am already looking forward to the 2008 series. Thank you thank you thank you. Mary Pomfret
I don't care how f***ing difficult it was to put on the Ullswater Trail you've GOT TO DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR !! It was the best event you've put on (and hey, that is saying something !!!) I really hope that everyone heaps praise on you for running it (no pun) you deserve it. Highlights for me were the boat trip which added a bit of "adventure" (sorry, bit too strong a word there - maybe 'dimension'?), made the race just one part of a good day out. Then there was being able to see the earlier runners up on the trail, knowing that soon the positions would be reversed with shouts and waves and cheering - what an atmosphere !! It shows there IS a good spirit between the runners (what other race would you have runners stopping to admire the view and commenting on it to their "rivals" ??) I have just sent Ullswater Steamers an email saying I thought it was brilliant that they were involved and it will have done them a lot of good. Graham Parker
I just wanted to thank you for a great day out. The race, as ever, superbly organised, in awesome surroundings and a pleasure to run. I think being taken to the start os the course by boat must be unique in this country, and makes for a very special race. It was well marshalled and signed, and the spirit of the day was great. Being a family man, my wife and I appreciated the bouncy castles, face painting and child friendly setting. My 3 1/2 year old Ellen thoroughly enjoyed her first ever race, and has told everyone in sight about her medal. So thanks for a unique, great trail series - I will be entering the full series next year. I really appreciate family friendly, scenic, well organised races so keep up the good work. Sean McKeag
I just wanted to say thanks for putting on these races. I've managed all 5 this year and they fill the gap between road and fell running. They have the excellent organisation of most of the road races, but with the beauty you normally get on hard fell runs. These open the Lakes to people who didn't think they could run there. The Steamy Surprise was the best for route choice. It didn't feel like it but you got almost 1200ft of climb along the lakeside and a lot of it was good technical surface - just brilliant. Phil Abbott
Just wanted to write a quick note to thank you for organising such a great series of races for 2007. They've been so much fun. They are so well organised and well marshalled. You also manage to create a great atmosphere at every event. My entry is already in for 2008 ! Alice Ridout
That was fantastic thanks so much for all the trouble you went to. Had a fab run in all ways and the boat ride just added to the greatness even more ! Once again can't fault the event at all and thank you very much. Mandy
I think this was the best course of the series - great autumnal weather, spectacular view of the course on the way to the start on the Steamer - there can surely be no other event in the country or possibly the world where that is possible. I do hope that it can become an annual event - if your sponsors at Ullswater Steamers need evidence of the benefits to them - you can let them know that at least one runner will be returning with family to cruise over to the start and walk the route back. Dave Walker
Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed yesterday's race - it was ace ! We loved the trip on the Steamer and the route was lovely - Paul and I have been to Ullswater quite a lot and have wanted to do that run for ages and never got round to it ! There was such a good atmosphere - hope it runs again next year. Paul and Michela Stepto
