Race Day

Please keep checking this page for up to date information and any changes.

Start numbers are collected on race day from the Registration on Jenkins Field - open from 08.00. All competitors will need to carry with them emergency wet weather gear : cagoule, overtrousers or tights, hat and gloves. This is because any accident on the course will involve a delay, as the Mountain Rescue use a motor boat for recovery, and you need adequate clothing cover with you. Safety checks will be made as people board the Steamer. Final details are now available for download in PDF format. There is a map of the course and a profile of the course.

Virtuoso guitarist and singer/songwriter Pete Lashley will be serenading you on each of the three cruises to the start in Howtown. Listen to Pete on MySpace. We will have tables and chairs inside the main marquee so you can enjoy your post race Wilf's meal feast in comfort. For the latest weather forecast, try BBC Cumbria
