There are three Steamy Suprise sailings each taking 200 people. The first sailing at 9.00am will have a time limit of 3 1/2 hrs, suitable for fast walkers, nordic walkers and less competitive runners. The 10.00am sailing will have a time limit of 2 1/2 hrs, and suitable for runners of all abilities - this is now FULL (25/08/08). The 11.00am sailing will now have a time limit of 2 hrs and is for both competitive and less competitive runners. The children's Fun Trails sets off when most people have finished the Ullswater Trail.
I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how much my husband and I enjoyed last weekend's Steamy Surprise. I can quite honestly say it was probably the most enjoyable running event either of us have ever taken part in ! The scenery was stunning, the weather was great, the hills were challenging, and the downhills made me consider becoming a fell runner (albeit very briefly...) Kelley Sprawson

Ullswater Trail 10am sailing Limit 200. Now Full For the serious and less competitive runner, a well marked and marshalled course with fast, graded runnable climbs and descents. Prizes for the winners, a hot Wilf's meal to all finishers, and spot prizes too ! There is a time limit of 2 1/2 hours for the 10am Trail Race and you must be 16 or over.

Ullswater Fun Trails Fun runs for all abilities of children under 12 within the finishing arena. Short laps for under 8's (400m), under 10's (800m) and under 12's (1000m), where having a go is the most important thing. Specially engraved medals to all the finishers, class winner's prizes for the first 3 boys and girls in each age class and spot prizes too. No entry limit for children - they can enter on the day too !
